This talk (rated 1.3 on a scale of 1-5 where 1 is “Excellent”) attracted a wide range of individuals and all first-time attendees said they would come to another talk. The talk was followed by a wide-ranging, open and extended discussion of Olympic values among the audience, as well as between the speaker and the audience – thank you, everyone.

The talk raised a number of issues and was thought-provoking, making it entirely successful in contributing to engaging the community in a) the Olympics and b) conducting philosophical enquiry into the nature and definition of values. I was glad to connect the Greeks’ addition of the  high-cost, high-prestige, elite sport of chariot-racing to the Olympics with the current discussion about the addition of Formula One!
