My second poster for Emma’s talk

Thursday 28th June 2012 at 13:15-13:45 in Leeds City Museum

Fresh from her “Special Guest Lecture” at the Institute of Classical Studies (with Elizabeth Pender but sadly not recorded for this website…), Emma Stafford turns from considering Olympic values to considering the similarities and differences between preparation for the ancient and modern Olympics with:

“Olympic Beginnings: preparing for the Games, then and now” will include a brief consideration of the myths surrounding the foundation of the original Olympics, so the poster has been updated to reflect. Expect Pelop’s chariot race and the size of Hercules’ feet… (NB British 14 1/2, as you might remember from Light Night 2011’s In the Footsteps of Hercules!)
